On the grounds of the Lutheran Seminary west of Gettysburg, late on July 1, 1863, Lt. General Robert E. Lee listens to Lt. General James Longstreet’s arguments for a move away form Gettysburg. Lee’s mind, however, was made up. Gesturing emphatically, he stated, "If the enemy is there tomorrow, we must attack him."
