This 2010 Ornament commemorates a significant landmark of Gettysburg's history. Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church looks much different today. In January 2010, two historic "witness" trees were removed from the front of the church, on Chambersburg Street. The 170 year-old linden trees, perhaps as old as the church itself and in place during the epic Battle, had rotted to their cores and had to be taken down for safety reasons.
