The Gallons Raise Seeing-Eye Dogs

Since 2015 Dale & Anne have been working with Guiding Eyes for the Blind to raise puppies that will become a guide dog for a blind person.  They receive the 8 wk. old puppy and keep him until he is approximately 16 months old.  They provide basic training and much socialization.  Then they return the pup to Guiding Eyes in Yorktown Heights, NY where professional trainers prepare the dog to be a guide.

Dale & Anne have raised two dogs, George & Carlton and are currently raising Arnold.

Here’s a article featuring Anne and George.

Our Gallery Story

In 1990 Dale & Anne built a 3,000 sq’ two story building at 9 Steinwehr Ave. to display Dale’s  work.   For over 25 years, you, our valued customers, came to support our mutual love of history thru Dale’s art.  We enjoyed the many visits talking history with you.  Many of you became good friends.

When we decided to close the walk in gallery and concentrate on selling Dale’s work online at www.gallon.com it was a challenging decision.   However, we wanted more time to visit our grandchildren so we did.

When many of you continued to come into the 9 Steinwehr location even after it became Rosie’s Boutique, we felt it best to offer some of Dale’s items at Rosie’s.  So, today, you can see some of Dale’s works on display there.

Often Anne will meet customers there to deliver items they have called to order.   So, when visiting Gettysburg, if you want to take a Gallon home with you, please call (717) 334-0430 or email   contact@gallon.com and make arrangements to have Anne meet you at 9 Steinwehr Ave. and we can have your framed or unframed piece ready for you.

Now, for a walk down memory lane…
